Volvo S60 Review & Test Drive

The recently launched, new Volvo S60 is a car you just have to take out for a test drive. Renowned for their solid, safety conscious designs, the S60 is Volvo’s attempt to break into the sleeker, chic sporty market. Its dynamic aerofoil profile and silky lines are testaments to Volvo’s intentions.

Take the S60 for a test drive and you will find yourself behind the wheel of a vehicle that has been seriously thought through, it still has the Volvo design sense but more refined, understated. It is an uncluttered and well laid out interior, everything within reach and easy to read as you sit in the comfortable seats.

The S60 comes equipped with parking assist and the driver support pack, which includes radar, guided cruise control to prevent accidents at low speeds, blind spot info system and driver alert control.

The new Volvo S60 is power by a 2.4 litre turbodiesel or a 2.0 litre engine both give a respectable 53.3-mpg and emissions are only 139 g/km. There are also plans for a 1.6 turbodiesel and 2.0 litre petrol engine in 2011.

The S60 is quick but not unmanageable, speed with safety. The handling is agile and corners nice but not so you feel like its ever going to lose it. Its shape will turn heads and it has the usual safety concerns address in a typical Volvo way but it definitely add a new dimension to the executive car market and well worth taking for a test drive.
