Revealed: Top 20 iconic cars of film and TV

Aston Martin DB10 with Daniel Craig from Spectre

James Bond’s Aston Martin DB10 from SPECTRE is the most iconic car in screen history, according to a new study by financial services company, Zopa.

Inspector Morse’s maroon Jaguar Mk2 followed in second place, with Dominic Toretto’s Dodge Charger from The Fast and The Furious in third.

According to the research, Brits are a nation of petrolheads, with nearly a third (32%) admitting they daydream about their favourite car, with Aston Martin the most popular choice, just ahead of Audi and Lamborghini.

More than two thirds (76%) of us would love a top-of-the-range modern car, while 21% would like to own a classic motor.

“We’ve seen so many iconic cars on the screen over the years, and often they’re more memorable than the characters themselves,” said Andrew Lawson of Zopa, which provided loans for one in every 280 cars in the UK in 2017. “It shows how important cars are to a lot of people, almost becoming part of the family.”

The poll also found that most motorists (44%) get a new car every five years, although more than a quarter (26%) are driving a car they have owned for some 10 years.
