SsangYong’s unbeatable seven-year/150,000-mile warranty

SsangYong Rexton

SsangYong has introduced the longest warranty available in the new car market – seven years and/or 150,000 miles, across its six-model range.

The long warranty beats other generous deals from its South Korean compatriots – Kia (seven-year/100,000-miles) and Hyundai (five-year/unlimited mileage).

“We want our customers to feel that by choosing a SsangYong, they will be looked after the best,” said Nick Laird, managing director of SsangYong Motor UK.

“Well engineered, extremely well-built in South Korea and consequently very reliable, we are backing our faith in the range by introducing the best and longest warranty available to all models,” he added.

“We announced a seven-year warranty when launching Musso in the summer for Musso and Rexton – on which the pick-up is based. It was so well received that we have decided to extend the same level of customer protection to all new models.

“No other vehicle on sale today comes with such comprehensive reassurance, and without the small-print of so many other manufacturer warranties.

The new warranty can be applied retrospectively to all new Rextons sold since the model was launched in October 2017, and customers wishing to apply the free upgrade can do so at their dealership or at their next service interval.

The new seven-year warranty can also be applied to all other models purchased between January 1 and September 30, 2018 at a cost of £500.

Designed to be totally transparent and give customers complete peace of mind, the long warranty covers all the major mechanical components including wheel bearings, suspension joints and bushes, steering joints, shock absorbers and even the audio system.

Wearable components such as clutch discs and brake friction materials, which could have their life reduced by poor driving, are covered for one year or 12,500 miles, and the battery and paintwork for three years.
